    hello rjassar

I see you are having some problems with the player.

first: in the album view, I can play the songs individually and I have no problem.

the problem comes on the "multi-player" and in the module (the error is in fact the same: "this playlist is not a valid xml file")

I'm working on solve this, but meanwhile, TRY TO DISABLE the SEF and see if it plays OK.

if it does, then the issue has something to do with the SEF (so I can start working on this point). check it out and tell me something

I too am having a problem with this new player. Songs play in the "Player per song mode" but not in the "Single Player per Album" mode. Check it out here --> http://www.myrebelmusic.com/Portal/index.php?option=com_muscol&view=album&id=6

well, I've been investigating this now for quite a long time. I dont know the solution yet, but I have some ideas that may work. The problem is that this seems to be an issue related to your server configuration (you know, in minw it works with no problem, it is only on some sites where it does not work), so I honestly need your help to try to solve it

    here are some ideas:

    1) maybe (just MAYBE) it has something to do on your site being on a subfolder of your domain instead of being on the root (on your case, you have it under /Portal). It would be just great if you could try to have your installation on the root, and see if it works. For instance: do you have a testing server (ie localhost?) that could help

    2) maybe is a crossdomain policy issue. Flash players only allow loading data from the same server where the SWF file is, unless you add permissions with an crossdomain.xml file. I know, your data is in the same server, so it should not be a problem, but... we can try.
you can read more about it here: http://developer.longtailvideo.com/trac/wiki/flashsecurity
so.. can you add a crossdomain.xml file on the root of your site? (or server) ? you can have the content of that XML file on the link I just provided.

also, if you're interested, here are some links I found that may help.. I'm still working on it

    http://www.longtailvideo.com/support/forum/setup-problems/11848/another-error-2048

so, please, try some of the ideas and tell me something. thanks

    Hi germi,

Is there any news on this issue. As i have said before half of the albums work fine and i am sending these links again

    http://www.sportsofpunjab.com/en/music.html?view=album&id=1

Every song on above listed album plays fine and every album i have added so far by this artist plays fine

When i add albums from any other artist they do not play or the songs just start and stop please check the link listed below and play song number 1 on this album you will now what i mean

    http://www.sportsofpunjab.com/en/music.html?view=album&id=2

    hello,

as you can understand, this is a bit weird... I mean, if it plays ok in one album, it should play ok on every album!! are you sure the files (those that start and stop) are correctly encoded?

that makes me think... I read somewhere on the JW Player homepage that, for optimum play, the songs must be encoded at a certain rate, and some encoding rate may not work perfect (like its happening to you)

I dont know where I readed this, but I'm gonna find it and post you the link.

I think this can be causing your small problem. can you check what is the bit rate on the songs that are playing good and those that are not? (you can use iTunes to check it, for instance)

    best,
    Germi

I found it! here it is:

"If your MP3 files playback is too fast or too slow, they likely contain variable bit rate encoding or unsupported sample frequencies (eg 48Khz). Please stick to constant bit rate encoding and 11,22,33,44 kHz. If you need a free MP3 encoder, check out iTunes software."

    Hi germi

Sample rate for all songs is 44khz, in this link if you check when you drag the time line forward to about 15 seconds it works fine.

    www.sportsofpunjab.com/en/music.html?view=album&id=2 (Check song no 1)

In the same album mensioned above songs 4 snd 8 play fine, i have checked the audio sample rate of songs 1,4 and 8 and they are all 44khz and bit rate of 128kbps and permissions for all songs is the same.

    thanks

in this case I think it must be something of the files that is wrong. I mean, its not normal that some file splay ok an other dont.

try this: replace one of the files that plays wrong for a file that plays ok (I mean, make number 1 point to the same file as number 4) adn make number one play. if it plays fine, then definitely theres something wrong with some of your files...

I mean, its not normal that some files dont play ok just for the position they are... it makes no sense at all ... :S dont you think?
