Language problem

Hello there.

Because no german language is available i picked up the en_GB file, downloadable from this page. I edited it and translated all words in it,but somehow not all text is beeing shown translated on the page. I copied it into the language de_DE folder.

I translated words like "Years active" but it wont be taken

can anyone point me to the right direction. Searching all files and replacing the jtext values is no option

i attached my translation(only renamed to .txt for uploading here, original name of the file is :de-DE.com_muscol.ini) and the image file

this file is for Joomla 1.6, right? (won't work on 1.5)

i downloaded the 1.5 version (at least thats what i think), but perhaps i downloaded the wrong link.. how do you see the difference?

if its really the 1.5 issue, then i bit my ass for stupidness

mmm... you mean that you are using Joomla 1.5, but you downloaded language file for joomla 1.6??!!!!

THEN IT WON'T WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :lol:

you must donwload the file for Joomla 1.5!!!!!!

but anyway you have already translated the version for 1.6 that's a good thing! if you want we can upload the file in our downloads area so everyone can download!

i downloaded your link..and changed the translation in it.. still the same problem.

I'm not sure... what are the sentences untranslated?

it's strange that on the first page it looks german, but then when I enter it is in english! so weird.. :S

haha sorry the first page..its the featured artist mod... i edited it in the code removing the j:text stuff.. because i dont know what to do anymore.. the "real" state is the second page.. you can see things like "years active" and "N Discs" are not translated

ah! ok, I see.

is your site setted as "German" in your configuration? I mean.. german is the language defined, right?

did you save teh de-DE.com_muscol.ini file in the de-DE folder?

is the file saved as UTF8 NO BOM?

about the encoding. I checked it with notepad++ saying it is utf8 with no bom..

for me it seems like every translation with an underslash is not working..
like Years_Active or Edition_Date..

because simple words like "Country" or Artist will be translated
