Hello!
Ive been looking for a component like this to list not music but books and movies. All the features this component has is pretty much what i look for, but for books and movies. So, the question is, would this component fit my needs? Can i choose what kind of information each item will be listed, such as release date, author etc?
Is there a way to see the backend of this component?

0many of our users use it for non-music sites. movies and books is a good example. others even show art galleries and other stuff.
basically all you'll need is to change the language labels, such as "Book" instead of "Album", or "Author" instead of "Artist"...
I think it can fit your needs quite well. and if tehre's something very specific you need but can't achieve, you can always do some customization later (we have a service for that).
you can see screenshots of the backend of the component here:

0Thanks for your very fast answer Germi. Sounds good to me, is your service forum based?
I do have one more question. I plan to have one menu for books, and one for movies. Is there a simple way to make these menus list books and movies seperatly? And also modules that lists top books, and the other top movies?
Thanks for the answers again. I plan on launching my next project next month, so i will probably go for your component, it looks like it will fit all my needs good, to a fair price. -

01) no, the customization service is a separate paying service...: http://www.joomlamusicsolutions.com/en/custom-service.html
2) actually... no, there is not an easy way for that. sorry, I asumed that you were asking to use the component for a "book" site or a "movie" site, I was not thinking in both at the same time... to achieve this, you'd actually need a "deep" modification of the component... -

0How deep are we talking about? I think ive created two new scenes for you guys.
Judging from the backend pictures i have a thought, cant i just add two formats; books and movies. Then if i want to list the hottest books i only list the book format in the module, is that possible?
You should really get a working demo up where you can login backend and play around a bit. -

0yes, you could do that.
the only thing is that "artists" would be mixed on your site (i mean, you'd have both book & movie artists listed on the same place.)
but yes, using formats is a good solution that does not require customization.
otherwise, the "deep" customization would be actually create some kind of "clone" component, changing all its database tables, classes, etc... so it can be used side by side with the original component, without mixing things

0Hello again!
So i have been thinking and it looks now like i will buy your component and mix it with both books and movies. To custom program it and making a clone was way to expensive.
One last question however. I run my new project on J1.5, i dont plan to migrate to 1.6. If i buy your component now, will you keep doing updates on the 1.5 version? From what ive read you guys are finetuning the 1.6 version, will you focus all your energy on that version in the future, or update both?
Or, can i run the 1.6 version on a 1.5 site? -
