I have a non " front page " problem with pagination when using the
"search albums" or "search songs" buttons.
The pagination displays correctly, but the buttons just do not work. When I click on " next ", " end" or one of the numbers, the page just refreshes and the list of albums or songs are gone, leaving a blank page with just the search fields and buttons ( this is the original look before I did the "search ).
Also to be a little more clear, my home page is a MC Search page ( Music Collection » Artists / Detailed ), however, it is not the " Joomla front page ".
In reading the other info in this forum about pagination, It seems like those issues were related to the front page/sef.
I apologize if this question is redundant.

0Since the pagination is not working, I tried to remove it, but it seems that I can not do that when using the "search albums" or "search songs" buttons.
I am not sure what to do next!
Is there a way to default the album and song searches to display "all" results based on the search parameters?
This way when a visitor searches all rock albums, " all " of them will be displayed on one page.
This is a good work-around for me until the pagination issue can be resolved.
How do I do this?
Thanks,

0hello!
now I see what's happening on your site.
for some reason, there's a part of the URL that is missing, which is view=search
(example: when the page is empty, when you click on NEXT, try to add this to the url: &view=search. you'll see how the results show up.)
do you have any idea of why this is happening? I haven't seen this before..
are you using the DEFAULT ITEMID parameter of music collection?

0Hi,
On my site the home page is the "search page" ( item id 426 ), but the results are displayed on the " artist page "( item id 1 )
So I guess the default item id would be the same as the initial search page. In my case, it would be 426.
Ok, The design I had for my site is this:
As I get move artist listed under different genres, I wanted to have a different page dedicated for each major genre..
Example...A Jazz page ( item id 500 ) with jazz articles, featured jazz artist and albums and a search album / song menu that resulted on another jazz page ( item id 520).
So, there might be 7 genre search pages pushing results to 7 different result pages.
So the big question is, how do I correct this item id issue ?
Thanks,
