Hi, Are any of you aware of any apps (Android / IOS) that can be configured to play user playlists?

Or are there any guys on here developing said apps?

I want to be able to provide an app for use with their user login for accessing & playing them etc instead of in a browser window.

Thanks

Stephen

Oh and please don't take the p**s from what I'm about to say. I just quickly read an article saying that can download an app for android called WT Player - formerly known as JW Player - perfect I thought, must be something configurable. hmmm once installed it realised that the JW stands for Jehoviahs Witness & the new player WT player (now installed on my Android phone) stands for watch tower. LOL... I really got to make sure I pay attention to details in the future!!! LOL

Lol, yeah I do not think that player will do what you want it to do :) I think I saw that link before, though it was one of the few references to it. Most refer to the JW Player as the one from longtailvideo.com which was originally written by Jeroen Wijering. I do not know of a mobile app that integrates with joomla and alllows one to play playlists. I typically use MC for the music side of my website.

If I want to stream music to an app with my own music, I typically will go the more feature full way of either using subsonic, ampache, or plex. However, you probably could even go far simpler and just create a .pls or other type of playlist file by hand, pointing to the files on the server, and then just link to the playlist. Any player that supports that type of playlist should then be able to play it. This would allow one to play on most phones as most phones will already have some type of music player installed by default. The downside is it would be a plain text file pointing directly to where the music is, so it would be easy to obtain the music.
