are you talking aobut accents on FILENAMES? filenames should be WITHOUT accents... songs name is OK with accents, but filename must be A-Z 0-9 chars... to avoid problems...

I am talking about file names for exemple:
file Café Da Manhã.mp3

when I scan folder it shows Cafй Da Manhг.mp3

if I "Create a new album using this files" you know what happens. song will not play.

Now, I understand you are saying it should be without accents, do you have plans to fix this limitation? This is the only place where UTF-8_unicode is not fully supported. Music collection will not do the job for me if there is no way out.

Just to add a note: Files will play and work well with accents. the only issue is the scan folder not reading correctly.

yes, accents on filenames may cause problems some times.

well, the first suggestion is: if you can, use non-accent filenames...

in any case, I'm going to investigate this, to see if this problem can be avoid when scanning a folder!!!

the function is scan_folder(), on line 748 approx. if you want to take a look at it, be my guest! 4 eyes see more than 2!

Hello There,

I have a similar problem. I have setup a site with music collection but since I am in greece whenever a user uploads a song, ad the song name is in greek, then the file takes the title name and since it's in Greek it doesn't play.
I have tried to do the solution above but didn't work. Most probably because it's for uploading from scanned folder.
Do you have any similar solution to my problem.
