I want to use it for my fanclubsite for Madonna.
Because there is just 1 artist (Madonna ofcourse
) I was wondering if I could use the system a little bit in a different way.
Instead of filling the system with artists can I fill the system with album titles (in the field of artists).
Example: I make artist with the names "Hard Candy" (M's latest album) and "Hung Up" (single).
If users push the 'H' in the letter-bar they will see the "artists" "Hard Candy" and "Hung Up".
When the user follows one of these links they will see all formats of the album (there for example limited edition, cassettes, normal cd, vinyl, etc).
Will this work???

I never though in using the system this way, but YES, I think this can work. but you'll have to be a bit careful: when you're viewing an album, (for instance, "hung up single in 12inches vinyl format", the "artist" will be "Hung up", since you'd have used the artist field to store the album name)
but yes, I think it is a very good solution for displaying a single-artist catalogue good idea!

a suggestion: add new formats. for instance, if you have a "special box" or a "special package" for an album (e.g.: an edition containing an LP plus a CD, or a special double CD / DVD edition... this kind of things) you could have it displayed as separate formats (I use it this way some times )
to fill the page with some text, go to backend->Music Collection->albums
and click on Parameters icon. there are two text area fields to write some introductino text to the music collection (you can use HTML code) -

0I did fill those 2 fiels with some text but they are not showing on www.madonnafanclub.nl/madonnaned/muziek/discography.html.
Also the search-thing is not shown... it sstands to Yes in the Parameters -
