if you were trying to install the full component, it's normal that it says that tehre is already another component using the directory...!

2.2.1 and 2.2.2 are IDENTICAL, it's simply that 2.2.2 is fillu compatible with Joomla 2.5...

then you just need to MANUALLY upgrade to version 2.2.1 (download file on YOUR ORDERS)
it's a manual upgrade, you just need to unzip and upload the files (1 or 2 files I think)
then you can download the full new package 2.2.2, unzip it, and you will need to manually upload only these files:

/admin/views/albums/tmpl/default.php
/admin/views/artists/tmpl/default.php
/admin/views/songs/tmpl/default.php
/admin/views/genres/tmpl/default.php
/admin/views/types/tmpl/default.php

But i uninstalled my component then I reinstall the com muscol 2.2.2.
