hi all

i tried to install com_muscol_2.3.0_community_pro_1.6.zip on the extension manager of joomla 2.5 but it says "unable to open archive". i redownloaded the file from my orders again (i thought there might have been a download error) but same result. any hints what i could do please?

    hmm.. that's strange.
can you try installing via folder? that means: you upload the file using FTP, and then you "point to it" using that option on the installer. can you try?

no luck so far, it says now:

JInstaller: :Install: Cannot find XML setup file
Path does not have a valid package.

that sounds like i am pointing to the wrong directory but i checked again and the zip-file is in there :(

but are you typing the filename as well? I mean, the path must be the whole path (path+filename)

if i only enter path, it says the messages i gave you before. what else can i try to make it right?

I tried and get the same error. it's really strange, nobody reported this before and I hadn't seen it before. I installed the jwplayer plugin and it was ok, but the component gives me that error. did you have any similar issues installing other components?

thanks for trying. i think when we installed maian media free (the component we used before, you might have seen it), there was also one package that we could not install, but it was not needed, so we left it out. everything else was ok. what can we still try to make it work? i will keep your account enabled so that you can try please.

another thing I don't know if you tried: when you uploaded the file usign FTP so you could use the option to "install from path", did you unzip the file in the server?

I think there is that option, I mean, you unzip the file and then you point to the folder...

i uploaded the unzipped files (as possible cause the encrypted ones i obviously cannot unzip) into this folder: /httpdocs/musicsolutions/tmp
not sure now what you want me to try or if you want to try yourself?
