I have taken a look at your site. the problem is that your images are PNGs... currently, MC can only create thumbs from JPG, not from PNG...
so, you'll have to convert your PNG to JPG if you want the thumbs to appear correctly..

you are damn right. that's my fault, I misspelled the directory where this image should go in the code of the aplication. to fix this you have two options:
1 - create the directory /images/icones/ and put the "date.png" icon there.
2 - open the file "components/com_muscol/views/artist/tmpl/detailed_album.php", go to line 68 and change the path of the "date.png" image to wherever you want to have it.

if you don't want to touch the source code, the first option will be easier and faster for you.

Does the PNG rule also apply to GIF images? It appears that in Album detail > Front sleeve, the image does not get placed in the directories of Album > thumbs_115 and thumbs_40. Will this work for JPG format images?

album images MUST be JPG, otherwise the thumbnail are not created.

I'll see if I can do something about it, but with PHP it's better work with JPG.. in my opinion!
