0aaahh!!!!
that's the problem my friend!!
current version of Music Colleciton ONLY works with Joomla 1.5, not 1.6
but.. don't worry!! the next version, which is very close to be released, is 100% 1.6 compatible... we are just adjusting final details
and you will have FREE access to the upgrade package of course.

0Tried the scan feature for the first time as well on my win7 64 box and am having the same problem. The scan does nothing.
It lists "F:\\xampp\\htdocs/songs\" next to the box to input the folder (notice the messed up display of forward and back slashes). Is there a way to change this? I really would like it to be blank so I can tell it which folder to scan and would like that it not move or touch my music. Instead just link to where the music currently is. I have all my music currently on the same box for testing, but I do not want it within the web directory where it can be vulnerable to leeching and unauthorized downloading.
EDIT: I updated the slash in the song parameters so now it shows the correct path, but it still is not doing anything. Even after I put a test album inside the folder it is looking for within the website.
Also when I hit scan folder, it doesn't refresh the page or do anything to give me any new data with debugging turned on. All I get is the debug data when I first go to the page before I hit Scan a folder.
Another thing I noticed is that MC is being overly picky on what is put in as the song server. I typed in "M:\" and it is just completely ignoring it. Looks like its forcing me to have to use a full url that starts with "http://" for it to even consider my path, yuck! I wouldn't mind give it a full url if i could use php in the url path, but it is also stripping that out. So I can not even put in a patch that includes a simple php echo command to include the ssid for authentication of my music server. As I do not want to direct link to unprotected files. -

0hello
there's an issue with paths in WINDOWS servers, indeed. will be fixed on the next update.
however, since Music Collection does not support (yet) protected paths, you need always to point to a file on your WEB structure (I mean, not "before" the public HTML path, usually www/ or public_html/ or such)
