Hi,

Is there any protection I can implement for the songs folder, so users can't see the list of archives and potentially download the files when visiting the mydomain/songs folder directly?

Thanks,
Gianpietro

Hi, what you can do is put an index.php or index.html page at the folder. Then, inside you could write something like this...

That does not elimate the possibility of downloading but for downloading, the visitor must know the exact filename to put at the address bar...

You can modify the permissions on your apache server, at least that's what we did to protect ours today.

    Ex:
    http://jamsspace.com/songs/

There is a very popular addon for Firefox called video download helper, if this addon is installed all songs within your Music Collection will be able to be downloaded 100% for Free - We are currently writing a custom application to solve this problem that should be done in early Feb. Please email me at support@jamsspace.com if you are interested in installing our application on your server to stop people from illegally downloading all of your music!!!
