well it's a bit more difficult than that because you need to change this to all the files where the download is available, plus you will need to check the user access for the logged in user... do you know Joomla programming?
it's not something I can point you "to one place" because there are more things involved I'm afraid...

I'm using phoca download and only enabling the component to members of a certain user group. So, the menu item will only become visible to those members. There should be a way to easily insert links from that component into the 'muscol/views/song/default.php' code for easier access but I haven't stumbled upon it yet.

I'm doing it a little differently than I guess other users are. You see, i'm using one file as a preview and another as a download. So it's quite complex.
