Hello

Thanks for the great product cant wait to get it working. The issue is I have installed the JW player plug in and enabled that. Also set up the album and added the songs. I can download the songs fine, but when I hit the play icon nothing happens. I have downloaded and installed all my plug ins and components from the my orders link. I would like some assistance on this.

here is the link to the page
http://www.2amubeezy.com/index.php?option=com_muscol&view=album&id=2&Itemid=570

Thanks

Lee

this is a bit strange, because the problem you are having is from an OLD version of music collection, although you see you purchased it a couple days ago...!
can you check what version of MC is installed in your system?

it is very strange, because the JavaScript files for the player are not being loaded. is like the template isn't loading these... quite strange.

can you check that in your template index.php there is a call to

    jdoc:include head ?

if you don't know what I'm talking about, I would need FTP access to check it myself

well this call must be in the index.php of your TEMPLATE file, not music collection

this is a Joomla MUST. if your template does not have it, it is a big, big error on your template. you can add it yourself on the head of the HTML file... do you know what I mean?

    [jdoc:include type="head" /]

(please replace square brackets, "[" and "]", for triangle brackets)

right after the declaration of the head tag of the HTML code.

could it be cache? I bet the template has some kind of cache activated... can you disable it?

not that I am aware of. The template that I am using is called jsn epic and I got it from http://www.joomlashine.com.

Sorry for not being much of a help in this troubleshooting process, this is my first real site that I am putting together.

Could you explain more of what you mean by cache?

    Thanks

if you go to the backend, on Template manager, and open the template, probably there are some options you can set on and off. maybe one of these is called "cache" or similar... could you check?

update on your cache question. Under global configuration > system there was an option for cache but that was disabled.

I do have a compress css/js option on the backend. It is on and supposed to help with load time. Do you think that could effect it?

boom that was the problem. I changed it to only compress the css and saved. went to my website and there was the player.

Thank you for the help and the time you spent working on this issue with me.

    no problem.
these template options can be a real nightmare in Joomla. the intention is good but the realisation is sometimes a real horror for us, extension developers.

Thank you Germi. This solved my problem, too.

We are also using the template Epic Pro by JoomlaShine. The default setting was to Compress CSS/JS. Once I followed your advice, the playlists and player worked fine.

    Great support.

Hi, if there is a resolution to the player not actually showing as a play button beside uploaded tracks on joomla 1.5x please could the software designer kindly advise.

I don't mean to be impatient but I have sat here recieved over 10 updates to this thread, none relate to joomla 1.5x and bearing in mind there are so many different settings, I am wary of going in and adjusting here and there with no clear idea of what is problematic.

I have also wasted almost 5 hours watching this thread and left the backend free for the software maker instead of working on the site and no resolution to my own issue has been addressed.

Do i open a new thread or something, because for me this is unfair to buy software and it does not work or its non functionality is blamed on someone else.

I just want to be told what the solution is..... please thanks

you should carefully look over your template options and look for anything related to java script.

well first thing I see just looging in into your site is that you have not installed the JWplayer plugin.

is that the problem? really? it's just that you haven't installed it?

well. hard as it is to believe, the problem is indeed that you simply hadn't installed the player... of course player didn't show up: it wasn't even installed.
I just installed it for you, all works perfectly.

    Lee thanks

there are no options relating to javascript within the template parameters in joomla 1.5

I cannot see any information relating to another area for template 'options' at the back end.

This problem i beleive may be due to a blip in the operational software, however the only way it can be resolved is by either giving access to the software designer or following fix instructions they provide on this forum.

I have done both with no reply at all.

please read the post above. no blips on the operational software, no bugs whatsoever.
the plugin wasn't simply installed. the installation instructions are here, in case you're interested: http://www.joomlamusicsolutions.com/en/support/installation.html

it was i who uninstalled it along with a lot of plugins and reinstalled one by one to see what the problem was then uninstalled it again and then enabled disabled and finaly uninstalled.

Thanks for fixing the problem, I have spent several days looking at the backend of html, joomla and php sites,.....

I think i have code dancing around in my eyes.
