Hello,

I have had music collection installed for a couple of months now. I just checked my site last night and I found that the section I have MusCol installed on shows a completely blank page - http://ilivewhereiam.com/road-music

Another page - http://ilivewhereiam.com/road-music/G/4-gonzalo-bergara-quartet - gives this error:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '}' in /home/content/i/l/i/ilivewhereiam/html/components/com_muscol/views/artist/tmpl/common.php on line 169

Please let me resolve this.

Thank you.

Lisa

well.. did you modify any file manually? this file (common.php) is served with the normal distribution, and I can asure you it is not missing anything... (otherwise everybody would have this problem) so.. have you modified this file for any reason? try to upload the original one again...

and, to know what's going on on the blank page, you should turn on ERROR REPORTING so we can actually see what's the error that is being thrown by the system...

    Hi Germi,

Thanks for getting back to me. I did edit that file manually, but it had been working fine for a few weeks. I did re-upload the original file and that did not change things. I just uninstalled the component and all modules and reinstalled the component. I still receive an error at - http://ilivewhereiam.com/road-music

I turned the error reporting for this page and nothing showed up. On http://ilivewhereiam.com/music-from-the-road-coming-soon which is just an article page I put this error reporting in the attached text file.

** Everything had been working fine on my site. I had actually just done a lot of testing on all browsers and everything was fine (except for IE6 & 7 for my video section).

** There were two changes I made after that. I installed JB Library plugin in hopes of resolving the video problem (which I have since uninstalled) and I installed a new version of Youtube Gallery ( http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/social-web/multimedia-channels/video-channels/13075 ) which I also uninstalled and reverted back to a previous version.

Any ideas how I can get MusCol back online at my site.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi Germi,

Thank you for your help earlier. I figured out what was wrong with my site - hopefully someone can benefit from this.

I actually figured it out from another post of yours at the bottom of this page - http://www.joomlamusicsolutions.com/en/forum/general/muscol-and-pendrive.html

It has to do with the installation of Music Collection and the PHP5.ini file. I had it set correctly to:

    [Music Collection]
    short_open_tag=on

I did not have a return after the word "on" and it was the last item in the file. I believe what happened is I installed another plugin and it added "rg_emulation=off" directly after the MC info so it looked like "short_open_tag=onrg_emulation=off" and that broken my installation.

    Hope this helps someone.
