Hi,
I have 2 questions:
1. Is there anyway we can have the songs linked from offsite other than /songs?
2. Is there anyway we can post the whole folder that includes many songs (it can take the filename as song's name) and all we will have to do is to go to the song and fix the song name and enter the artist and all other good stuff?
Thanks,
Hien

01 - yes, there are parameters for that. you can have the songs in another folder or even in an external server
2 - you mean if the "song" is created automaticly? songs dont create automaticly. but you can upload many songs at one time (by FTP for instance) and then just create songs and write the name of the file corresponding to that song

0I have connected MC to the Amazon S3 server. In this way, I get cheap storage, fast transfer and protected audio files. Only those logged in to MC can audition and download music, and the URL:s expire after a certain amount of time. I also use a flash player that will stop the progressive download if the stop button is played.

0Hi Finwick,
A short explanation would be:
1. Setup an Amazon S3 account
2. Insert a PHP script that handles the authorized access to the file on S3 (available on the Amazon S3 developer forum).
3. Direct the flash player to the S3 link, but use a redirect command or redirect PHP file to get around the problem flash has with Amazon S3´s use of special characters in the file name (see the the JW Player forum).
For a help with such a setup, I would recommend Germi´s Custom Service. It´s a bit too much work for me to write it down here, although I did it on my own. The solution brings high speed and secure access even to budget hosted websites.

0I would sooner or later need to upgrade my MC which contains some custom code by Germi. If Germi is interested, I could perhaps work with him a bit (not on the coding, because I am not programmer, but more on the user implementation) to see if this could be implemented as a part of MC, i.e. a choice in the backed to host the music on S3. It really wouldn´t be that difficult, and it would make MC an even better product with cloud storage option. What do you say Germi? -

0My custom solution is not correct as well, since I adapted a customized version of MC 1.0 to work with a popup with JW player (before Germi's newer versions came out). Because of my lack of Joomla programming skills, I had to create an pop-up window as an external file that logged in to Joomla and then apply a check if the user is logged in or not. However, for some reason that script worked for some users and for some not, so at the moment my redirect link is not protected although the S3 signed urls work fine. This is easily fixed, by integrating the script with MC 1.5. or higher, but since I have a custom version I haven't got around to work on this. I still think it would be great if S3 storage is implemented as part of MC, and I will talk to Germi about it (haven't taken the time to do it since it hasn't been a priority so far).
