0@salsamundo: please, behave your manners.
don't tell me what is my job, I know it perfectly.
the fact that the artist table is missing fields is NOT SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN. is not "an error included with the software", as you are trying to make it look like.
I was just telling you how to solve this. WHY ARE THIS FIELDS MISSING? I dont know. I'm investigating it. if you look at the install files, you can see how this fields ARE THERE perfectly. I dont know why your installation missed them. other people instaleld exactly the same package as you and did not had this problem. this is a specific problem you're facing, not a "global" problem that the package has!!
please understand.
now: I've already asked to try something out. if you dont want to try, ok. then I'll ask you to re-install it again, to restore the problems. as I tell you, is something that maybe went wrong on your installation process.
I dont think it will happen twice.... so if you erase the database tables and reinstall again, you wont have this problem. I think..
I'm just trying to help out here, don't be so upset -

0ok, good. thanks for understanding
about the Discogs: most of the time (90% of cases) the discogs facility not working is related to GZIP encoding: mod_gzip must be active in your server, because discogs sends always gzipped data.
so, first thing, if you can, it would be great if you can check if the apache module mod_gzip is enabled in your server.
besides from that, we've been trying a side solution, which is using CURL to connect to discogs. if you want me to do some tests on your site, please send me FTP and joomla access to your site at joomlamusicsolutions@gmail.com
I'll test things and tell you what is causing the problem, and solve it.
