Feature artists module

0
Hi!

I have the following question, I have a music menu page that shows the modules of featured artists and featured albums. Once I click on one of the artist to see them it shows the artists info and songs etc. But in that same page it keeps showing the featured artists and modules at the bottom. I have selected that those modules should only display on the Music Menu but it looks that the info being get from the music folder should I create some kind of hidden menu or something to only display the artist information or how do I get around this? Is there any way also to see who posted the song? or to only allow one artist per user?

Thanks for the great support!

there's no hidden menu: it is useing the DEFAULT ITEMID parameter, set on Music COllection parameters OR in the module parameters... are you using this param?

The ITEMID parameter is left blank so I guess it is default how do I specify to show frontpage of that menu i but not when I click on something inside that menu?

PS: my featured albums module shows the parameters but my featured artist doesn't display module parameters any thoughts? Can I also displayed or limit number of artist per user?

it doesn't display paramters...?? have you installed a package which name ends with "_1.6.zip"? (ONLY available on YOUR ORDERS)

when parameters don't appear, it means that you have installed the version for Joomla 1.5 instead of the version for 1.6 & 1.7

Yes I did install the 1.6 for 1.7 version and the package ended with 1.6.zip Everything shows parameters well except that artist module is there any way to install it individually?

And how do I control that item ID you were talking in those parameters since I tried it with my feature albums (which shows the parameters) and have no reaction.

One last question is there any way to limit the artist per user or display who added each artist in the front page?

    Thanks a lot germi

    hello!

    1) no way to limit the artists per user, sorry. not out of the box...
    2) yes you can just reinstall that particular module: uninstall it and reinstall it.
    3) the number you must write on the ITEMID param is the ID of the MENU ITEM you are using to point to Music Collection. that is, your "main" music menu item. just go to menu manager and look at the right column, and the number. let's say it's 34

then you go to the ITEMID param and write 34, that's all!

Ok, so I reinstalled it and I also tried on both the ITEMID param but it has no reaction on the module. It still displays when clicked something inside that menu.

    Any thoughts?

well the itemid is indeed to ALLOW it to display.

but I'm guessing what you need is to set up that param on music collection's configuration params, besides of module params! do you know what I mean?

    Hi Germi,

Yes I know what you mean by the music collection configuration well it shows parameters for main page, albums, artist etc. But I don't seem to find anything related to module (aka feature artists and albums) display parameter.

    Thanks
