I am having the exact same problem.
I'm running under a Joomla 1.7 with Music collection 2.2.1 pro.

When i try to add an artist i get this error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined method TableArtist::getErrorMsg() in C:\\wamp\\www\\cromxtended\\administrator\\components\\com_muscol\\models\\artist.php on line 135

that only happens if you had a previous version of Music Collection running on your site, and you uninstalled it and installed a new one. is that the case?

I got the problem solve by deleting the component and the _muscol tables in the database.

I guess the component was badly installed.

But now i have a new problem, impossible to add songs to an album.

After entering the name and path to the mp3 song, i'm redirected to the main page of my joomla backend.

Do you have a solution to that ?

that is really strange... you are redirected after hitting SAVE? any messages show up?

Yes i'm redirected to the main administration page of Joomla with no error message.

And no songs added to the album.

are you uploading many songs at a time? maybe is a upload limit probem

can you try to just add ONE song (and don't use a very large file..). do you have the same problem?¿

So I tried to upload one by one and it works.
The problem happens only when i try to upload a Mp3 song heavier than 7Mo
Is there a way to change that ? move it to 10Mo like most of my songs?

I have detected some more problems that you may be a help on :

- When a menu is affected to "Detailed Layout (Music collection Homepage mandatory) i get a weird looking template with codes all over. See picture attached to this post.

- When i affect a menu to the " Standard Album Layout" it doesnt work. When i click on the menu i get a white page ( no error message).

- Is there a way to affect a menu to display only all the Albums ? something looking like the demo of Music Collection.

this weird errors you get -> you must set the php variable SHORT_OPEN_TAGS to ON !!!

this is very important! (it's on the installation instructions!) otherwise you see this ugly code.

After install update for Music Collection I got the same problem, I can't add new artist any more. Please HELP US, web-site doesn't work! ALARM! ASAP!
