alright, it does work when you set the default page and you don't put the artist list as detailed, but I want it to be detailed

lets see... "album" view does NOT have a "detailed" layout.

the detailed layout is for "artists" view and/or "artist" view.

the best way to see what you have wrong is that I can access your site and see it myself...

if you want me to, you can send me an admin user/password so I can check that everything is setted OK.

alright its working, it wasnt working when the artist page was set as detailed, but it is as default, after, you can set the parameters as detailed in the back end and it will work.

just try to look at the parameters of MC and check the layout (simple, detailed...) for artists and so

Hi, I can access album info when I go to the link I created at the top called 'music directory' and click on an album, but I can't access albums via an artist page, I get the 500 error.

I see. this is a a problem caused by the Joomla SEF engine.
I know others had this problem but could solve it.

the best solution of course would be to use an external SEF solutions like JomSEF or sh404sef

tr to disable the SEF and see if you get the error (I think you wont). then re-enable it and try again. tell me if you still have the same problem

anyway, there's a solution that will solve the problem in any case:

copy the file
/components/com_muscol/views/album/tmpl/default.php

into the same folder, but name it "detailed.php"

and the problem will be gone

Switching off Joomla SEF did the job. I'll leave it at that for now since it's functioning, will add an SEF fix later.
