Hi, I have purchased this component as it is supposed to be compatible with Hikashop? I have numerous problems and after searching through this forum it appears to be non compatible with most countries VAT laws?? I am in the UK and the invoice must show the total amount of VAT charged. The invoice is currently all over the place with VAT (must be something to do with rounding even though this is set to be rounded in Hikashop)
The invoice in the back end shows that the invoice is 'partially paid' even though the amounts are matching (again must be rounding) I have found a feature to display the total amount of VAT BUT this adds it gain to the invoice??? and does not appear to be global but for individual invoices?
Please see attachments

0Hello Christopher,
It definitely has to o with rounding (both issues).
if you could send us access to your site at support@ joomlathat.com (joomla and FTP) I'll be glad to take a look at it and fix it. As for the VAT, since it imports the amount for each item, it is added in each item line, not "globaly" on the invoice. -

0Hi, Thanks for the reply but if you cannot get the VAT to show as a total then this is no good to us a we are VAT registered and have to comply as below taken from HMRC.
What information must be shown on a VAT invoice
A VAT invoice must generally show:
an invoice number which is unique and follows on from the number of the previous invoice
the seller's name or trading name and address
the seller's VAT registration number
the invoice date
the tax point - the time when a sale is treated by HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) as taking place - if this is different from the invoice date
the customer's name or trading name and address
a description of the goods or services
For each different type of item you sell, you must show the:
unit price or rate, excluding VAT
quantity of goods or the extent of the services
rate of VAT that applies to the items being sold
total amount payable, excluding VAT
rate of any cash discount
total amount of VAT charged
If you issue a VAT invoice that includes zero-rated or exempt items, you must:
show clearly that there is no VAT payable on those items
show the total of those values separately -

0Germinal, please make this a new version. We also need VAT as a total number, not just as a percentage.-
Germinal Campsmore than a month agoYes, we are already preparing it! not sure about the number instead of percentage at the moment, tho.

0No I have had nothing from you since my last request on the 17th November email: sales@mohairbearmakingsupplies.co.uk-
Germinal Campsmore than a month agoHello Christopher: I don't have any email from that email address and from that date. Can you double check that this is the email account you used? There is no record of any emails on our system from this address, except the registration and subscription emails.

0Hi, I did not send an email, I was expecting a new release to fix these issues as this was also requested by zebrahosting and also this is also business critical for VAT registered businesses.-
Germinal Campsmore than a month agoon the previous post you mentioned you sent an email on 17 November..! anyway.. yes, we did a small modification for that user (zebrahosting), but it was quite particular, this is not included in the release. do you want us to apply the same one to your installation?

0That's a reference to my email address, I was referring to my last post on the 17th. Sorry my site is live so I do not want 3rd parties accessing it, my request was basically what zebrahosting needed as this software does not comply with UK VAT laws, from reading in this forum it also does not comply with most other countries as well, this amazes me that no update has been released to rectify this important change? Your description says it works with Hikashop but at present it's way off the mark to be of any use.-
Germinal Campsmore than a month agoHi Christopher, not actually... it is compaible with HikaShop and many many users are using it. what happened in that case is that the request was to show the VAT info in a separate way. in your case, the issue looks pretty similar: it's not that not imports the taxes correctly, it's that you want them displayed differently on the template...

0Hi, Sorry to disagree here. Your invoices do not reflect the Hikashop invoices otherwise there would not be a problem. I would have thought this to be a simple fix as both VAT registered users and none VAT registered users will use this. Why do your settings not reflect my settings in Hikashop if this is compatible as you declare? my Hikashop invoice s have been legal straight out of the box without the need for them to do personal fixes.
I have sent you the links to the legal requirements for a VAT registered business and your invoice does not comply! simple! so therefore you need to fix it or declare in your words about the software that the invoice is not VAT legally compliant! At the end of the day it's your software and you should have a duty of care to make sure it's legally compliant for which it's purpose is intended and as it stand it is currently not VAT compliant.
I am no programing wizard but I would not have thought it to be too difficult to have a radio button that will give a complaint invoice for VAT registered customers, and also if you are not VAT registered you do not need to show the VAT so you could even make the invoice VAT compliant and have a button that will not show VAT for those that are not, the way I see it there are plenty of options that you could take to rectify this fault in the software. -

0Hello Christopher,
I understand it's not working for your case. I appologise for that. We are already working and thinking to improve the compoentn (and plugin) to adapt to all possible scenarios.
But saying that it is not legally compliant is also not true, as a "generic statement". Yes, I understand it's not working for you. But we have hundreds of clients that are perfectly happy with it and it complies great for their cases (countries, other tax structures, etc). Many of them in the UK.
Again, not trying to fight you! I totally understand what you're saying and it does not do what you want. Just saying that this is not the same as it being "completely useless", sort to speak.-
Germinal Campsmore than a month agoanyway, if we can't access your site to make changes and you don't want to use the soft in any way, we can logically refund your purchase!
