User and admin emails are not being sent when automatic approval is enabled Issue

We are having an issue when user's sign up as an affiliate. Once they fill out the form a message shows that they will be notified when their account is approved. However, they never get an email. I tested and PHPmail is working fine and then I tested the approval email by manually changing a user status to approved and THEN I got the email. So manual approval sends out the emails but automatic does not.

Can you help diagnose?

    but... your affiliate tracker is configured to approve accounts automatically? or you have to approve them manually?

    We want it to be automatic and is currently set that way. We only used manual to test the email system.

    Germinal - table this. There may actually just be confusion on the client end on how affiliate signup works. I'll get back to you if that isn't the case.

    Same problem here. Automatic approval turned on, but not email notification to affiliate or admin.
