Configuring Affiliate Tracker

Hi I just purchased affiliate tracker and it may have been pre mature. I was unaware of what additional joomla extensions are needed for it to work. I appears that it needs a payment gateway to pay for and track affiliate sales. I currently use whmcs as my billing solution and there doesn't appear to be a plugin for this. I also noticed that i cannot set multiple commission rates for a single user. It appears that this is something that may be available in another version. Instead of requesting a refund I would like to try to get this all sorted out to see what is possible. I have the professional version. While i do not require multi level users i do need a multiple commission rate for a single user. I hope that this does not require me to upgrade my subscription plan as it appears that i will also need to purchase a separate payment gateway extension. If so than a discount on the upgrade would be great. Please advise.

    Hello,

It's not quite right that Affiliate Tracker "requires other extensions to work", it's just that its whole purpose is to track affiliate sales made on other extensions (it is not a "selling" platform itself, it is meant to track activity on other selling platforms).

as for WHMCS, we do not have an plugin for that. Is it a joomla extension? to make it work with it, a plugin should be specifically developed for it.

As for multiple comissions for a single user.. what you mean exactly? can you make an example?

PS means POST SCRIPTUM. This is a latin term just to say "after written". Like when you write something at the bottom. ;)

Sure. Can you have multiple comissions per affiliate. For instance I have a single affiliate account that would have a commission of 20% on product A and also a commission of 30% on product B. Is this possible.

ok, so you mean different comissions per product.

no, this is not possible, it would require custom coding work.

Hi, No they are separate products. The commissions would be for separate products for a single affiliate.

So is there a work around. Could the affiliate have multiple accounts.

that would not really be a workaround.. you could have multiple accounts for the same affiliate, with different commissions each.. but that would not be "linked" in any way to the products...

Ok. So how is the affiliate tracked. In other words if someone places a banner on their website and some one clicks on it how does affiliate tracker know if they purchased the product.

because the link contains an identifier (in the form of ?atid=X for example). the system recognises this and places a cookie on the user's browser. from that point on, this user is identified by AT. when he purchases, the plugin that tracks that particular action checks if the user came from affiliate link, and if he did, it assigns the commission.

Got it. So just to be clear you can only have one (default) commission rate for all products (affiliates.) Correct?
