I guess You can't adjust for all templates in the world - but this is standard COOLNESS template what sells by Community Builder.
As many peoply use and will be using the one - hopefully You could make some adjustments (as MC component INCLUDES itself into CB)

first of all, to clarify:
a user does not have to adjust core code AT ALL. only, mayce, some CSS (thats not core code!!!!). ALL OPTIONS are modifieable thorguh parameters.

I'm going to help you on everything that is refering to setting things up! of course, there can be things that you want that the program cannot do! I mean... what did you expect? it does what it does!

1) sorry I dont understand what you want to modify... this is NOT community builder!!!! this is Music Collection. you know what I mean? the integration is thorugh a plugin.

just a though: for instance, I see the letterbar quite ugly. if oyu just remove some css properties on your template_css.css file (lines 79 to 83 approx) (things like margins, paddings, etc) it will look much better. anyway.. did you remove any css property yet? it looks to me like you did...

what other adjustements you need? I mean, Im thinking, for instance, that you coudl use some modules on the right.. because right now it looks to wide.. (maybe!)

2) DETAILED view shows all this fields. if you want to get ride of some of them, you can do it on components/com_muscol/views/search/detailed_album.php (yes, thats code, but its very easy to understand. this is not an included feature). there's, however, some parameteres to show/hide this items on ALBUM VIEW. this is choosen on the parameters, on the backend. you can choose to show, hide, or "show only if not empty" on all of them

3) album player ONLY shows on album view, you cannot "embed it" anywhere (I think that answers number 5, too)

4) for a particular album? or what you mean?

5) just like point 3: this does not exist. this could come on the future as a content plugin, maybe.. but right now you can't do this.
