probably the easiest way to find out whats happening is that you turn on the ERROR REPORTING for a moment (you can do it on joomla's global config) and you'll see an error instead of the blank page...

I have solved the problem, here is what I found which hopefully will help someone in future if they come across the same problem.

I updated my server to the latest PHP version - I could not find any reference on your site for which PHP version.

Maybe unrelated but had this as well.

The modules were getting a parse error upon install - on Googleing the error, I found that I had to delete the mac file within the mod file, this was causing the error.

All seems to be working now

well, yes, when you purchase the component it says "Music Collection needs PHP 5 to run"

about the module errors, yes you are right, but in any case you dont ahve to worry, because although it says "error", the modules install fine anyway

for now only JWplayer works with MC.
