What is the Products link for?

Can products be added easily to the invoices with their respective codes and prices in a drop down box?
There is the products link on the Left side, I fill it up with some units and when I go to invoices, only shows New Item and is not link to the Product list.
So?

    to add the products to the invoice you have to use the "search" box just beneath the ITEMS list. just hit "search" and it will load the products, then you just click on each product one by one and they will be added. very quick way to create invoices!
