change from email address

all of my email invoices are sending out with the from address of "Root User". How do I change this?

    The options panel is the first place I checked. I changed the email invoice from address to my email address and the from website address to the website I manage. but the invoices are still showing root user

    that's odd.. is there something in your joomla installation that could be overriding this?

    what's the configuration of the email settings on joomla global configuration?
