Hello,
ipinfodb.com relies on ip2location.com. But ip2location.com not resolves IP addresses with good location...
If we compare with cqcounter.com/whois (results are good), we see the city provided by ip2location.com are not good.
Is this temporary?
Can we use another provider?

0The data accuracy of ipinfodb.com is in general good, but not always (depending on countries, basically). it is a free service, it's not perfect.
at the moment is the only provider we support. again, the accuracy is not 100% some times. for example for cities in US is quite very good.-

Germinal Campsmore than a month agoit's not true that it doesn't work for europe or canada. there may be some cities misplaced, yes, but the data accuracy providen is around 85%. it's not perfect, but saying "it doesnt work" is a bit too much.. depending on free services has this handicap. we will look into other services but for now only ipinfodb.com is supported.

0It does not work for Lyon and Paris in France: the 2 largest cities!
The results show that the addresses in some isolated campaigns across the country!-
Germinal Campsmore than a month agoI'm sorry, but I can't do much about this. the data is providen by ipinfodb.com. sometimes it's better, sometimes it's not. the country accuracy is obviously good but the city can be wrong sometimes. again, you say for example that it does not work Lyon and Paris. that's not true.. in any case, it's not working for a particular IP address which you're testing (and others probably), but that doesn't mean that all the visits from Paris will be missmatched...! do you know what I mean?
this is based on IPs, and it's not always accurate for cities. Maybe there are other servives we can look at but I can asure you those will not be 100% accurate either. even if you're looking at sample IPs which are correctly set in other IP services, this doesn't mean all the results will be 100% accurate. such thing doesn't exist...

I think ip2location.com is good supplier for the U.S., but unreliable to other countries.
Unless it is a temporary failure from ip2location.com, which remains possible.
It's a pity, because the shown graphic is thereby distorted on an analysis of a country. -
