Day-names in monthlist not showing in mobile device

Day-names are not shown in a month view when I use a mobile-device.
Is it possible to change this by myself to use 2 or 3 character-names?

    this is made on purpose to save some space on mobile screens (space is very precious in these layouts!). Changing it to 3 character names would actually require a bit of coding...

    It`s a pitty :( that this is not working, because smart-phones are more used now days.
