The alerts trigger (which is a plugin you need to install) is fired, if necessary (that is, if there are any alerts to be send) on any page hit.

about the popup, well it is fixed at a certain height. If you can't see the buttons, what can be done is to make this "max height" smaller, to make sure you will see them all the time. (that is, if I understood correctly your request)

look, if you open file /components/com_calendarplanner/assets/styles.css and go to line 859, you will see that the max-height is set to 615px.

that is probably too much for the screen. try setting it at, say, 400px.

Regards the alerts, I am getting the alerts having installed the plugin so that has answered the question, I just wanted to know if I needed to setup a cronjob or if it relied on the hits - Great support as always

One last question, i have an event added by another user. How can I as the administrator delete the event. It doesn't show up in the event list in admin?

it has to show in the admin interface.. are you sure there's no filter set? like the "from" date filter?
