Hi Germi

I am trying to test if MC is full working with built-in Joomla SEF.
So far I have found that the following do not work when I turn built-in Joomla SEF on (Search Engine Friendly URLs=Yes,Use Apache mod_rewrite=No, Add suffix to URLs=Yes )

1. Player does not work in album view (error: The player list is not a valid XML file)
2. Player does not work in player module (error: Unknown playlist format: html)
3. Pagination of song list does not work, 1st page is ok but that's about it, everything else does not work
4. Pagination of album list does not work, similar to above
5. Random & feature albums module does not work, I got the list of album but drilldown to album view will see problem 1.
6. Playlist view does not work, drilldown to playlist name goes nowhere

I guess that there could be more but I do not have time.

While I do not have issue with MC not fully support built-in Joomla SEF if you choose to do so, but I think you either make it work or rewrite the claim in this page:
SEO tools included for better indexation on search engines

Please give your word, so I do not waste more time on MC + built-in Joomla SEF (I setup the site http://www.quenoi.com for testing this)

Thanks you
nguyen

let me get this thing straight:

you post a thread on the forum, on SUNDAY, and you dont get an answer in 12h, and you go to joomla extensions directory and make a review saying that I dont want to answer your questions about sef? is that it?

so not even 24h have past since you posted the thread, and you say that I dont WANT to answer your questions?

well, I guess I can use some rest on the WEEKEND, dont you? its frickin' sunday, have a little patience

you'll have to wait until the week starts to get your questions answerred

that JED review has been really disapointing.

    Hi Germi

In the Joomla Extension Review, my review has three main points:

    1. I gave MC 4 stars, which is not "disappointed" in my book but a compliment

    2. I stated the fact that MC does not fully work with Joomla built-in SEF. This conclusion is from my testing, you can always come out and set the record straight if I was wrong

    3. I post a question or two about problem with navigation and did not have your answer to the bottom of it. Then I saw this unanswered post about SEF 2-months old : http://www.joomlamusicsolutions.com/en/forum/version-2/sef.html. That's why I thought you are reluctant to answer Joomla built-in SEF related question. My thought as a user is that, because you claimed that MC works out-of-the-box but it doesn't, so you do not want to talk about it. As I said, you can always set the records straight if I was wrong about this.

I like MC, will use it to some extent.

1 - in JED, anything that is not 5 stars is highly penalized, unfortunately

2 - it works out of the box. it seems to be some bad configuration on your joomla site. I think the problem is that you aren't using the ITEMID paramter on MC global configuration. if you want me to give it a look, send me joomla admin access data and I'll do my best

Great thanks to Germi for helping to identify the problem with playlist and album view. Basically, the "Add suffix to URLs" option have to be off.

I just want a working MC so I just turn it off (only keep "Search Engine friendly URLs" on) and do not want to worry whether its is MC or Joomla's issue.

However, the pagination doesn't work on search's result view (both album list and song list) and artist view's song tab, even if I turn off SEF. I hope that Germin can help to resolve this paging issue.

    Once again, thanks Germin!

I just want to quickly update about this issue.

Great thanks to Germin for speding time and effort to make the pagination working on on search's result view, both album list and song list.

The only issue remained is the pagination on songs tab of artist view, hopefullt it will be resolved soon.
