that was my question in an other thread

the letterbar A-Z is only for artists.
in my music, we cotalogize the music in cat-number from vinyl or label name.
can you put in the option, what the letterbar be display?

- artists
- cat-number
- label name

so i have a solution for my problem.
i use the tags to list my labels.
so i can search and display my labels from vinyl and cds.
it works.

so i have only one problem.
the letterbar show the artists.
It would be impossible to display in the letterbar the labels?
you can fix it now that the database is queried tag?

    hello

this is not a "fix" because it's not a bug!!!
it's just the way it works: letterbar is for Artists in music collection...

using it for anything else would require customization, it's not something we plan to add on the official release! :)

    i know.
but i think you can help and say me how i can fix the letterbar.

for techno music is that the only thing to catalogize the music.
    music is many different.
or do you support only commercial music?
for commercial music it´s right. sort to sony music ... etc its :X
but for techno music is the label the important thing.

more users will have your application if it goes i think.
i will help me and all other and you germi ;)

I understand that label classification can be useful in some cases, yes! :) specially on techno music, that's true.

but you have to understand that this is not only "setting a lettebar", it requires some code customization in many files! new letter bar, new search queries, new "search result pages" filtered by label, etc.

do you know what I mean? it's not that easy! it's not just something I can say "do that"...! it requires work... if you want this it can be done but it has to be done as custom coding work for you!

you have to understand that this particular features, although it's useful to you, it's not something people asks for actually (you're the first!) so it's not something we plan to include on a public release...!

do you know what I mean? :)

    best,
    Germi

    ah ok.
i thought that you must only query the database with the command to search for labelname.

i thought it is no problem, why i use now your tag for my label-list.

    :(

    thanks for answer.
