is it a large file you're trying to upload? maybe you're simply exceeding the upload limit...

The file is 3.87mb. Tried it from multiple locations and same problem.

is the folder /songs writtable?

I'll switch it to 755 now and try again. As far as I can recall that feature has never worked. So I used FTP.

I just sent you an email with the file I am trying to upload.
I was finally able to upload a file for the first time after filling out all the fields.

To a user who is unfamiliar with this system that can be a bit problematic.

1) There is no progress bar.
2) There is no indication that the upload will fail if you don't fill in certain fields.

How can i solve these problems?

I understand what you say. that is why we added ID3 tag reading in new version, because it automatically pulls all the data if available. you don't have to type song title or any other details.
