Upgrade

Hello.

I installed Music Collection for a client about three years ago and had some customisation's done by you. The site is:

I want to move the client to php7.1 and need to know if the latest version of your component is compatible and will those customisations and still work if I pay for the upgraded version. The site is currently running MusCol 2 (I think) and Joomla 3.8.12 which I want to upgrade 3.9.x

Also, we have intermittent problems with the Discogs feature where, when you click the button nothing happens. I yet to find out why this happens.

I have attached the customised files I was told to keep for future upgrades.

    I don't remember the specific customizations we did for you, but in any case, if you update directly the customizations would be lost.
    we would need to manually import the custom work or rebuild it into the new version

    I have saved the files you told me to in case of upgrades. That's why I attached them. My question is if I upgraded would simply copying those files to the correct folders still work? And does V3 of the Component work with PHP7.1?

    yes V3 works with 7.1

    but again, it's not just "copying" the files, that won't work, because then you would override new things in V3 version and it would not work.

    it has to be a manual coding job of bringing the custom functions into the new version

    Ok no problems. How much would the custom coding cost to get it working the same so i can advise my client?

    Also you haven't answered why the Discogs button does not work intermittently. I has always worded but on some occasions clicking just does nothing at all.

      About Discogs, I really can't say, I would need to see it to be able to tell what's going on.

    Hi Germinal. I have spoken to my client and he is happy to go ahead with the update. Please confirm the 250 Euro for the mods discussed above plus 79 Euro for 12 months for Music Collection is all that is needed and will work as per the current V2 setup on Joomla 3.x and 4.x and also php 7.x.
