Automatic Artist creation

Hi Germi & Team,

I have a very large catalogue of Vinyl to add (5000+ pieces) the lookup from Discogs is working great, but is it possible somehow to automatically add the artist info to the Artists Table if it doesn't exist?

Also, it would be nice if there was an option to get some Bio for the artists from somewhere

Also, adding Genres automatically from the Discogs info would be useful

We have just purchased MC and would like to know if there is any update with regards to automatic update of Artist and Format when importing listings from Discogs?

Hi and thanks for the response...

Could you define "at the moment"?
So, some example definitions: -
"At the moment it's being coded - timescale = 1 month"
"At the moment it's on the 'to do' list - timescale = 3 months"
"At the moment it's on the wishlist - timescale = 6 months"
"At the moment it's on the 'mañana' list - timescale = 12 months"
"At the moment it's not on any list - timescale = never"

Hi Steve

This and a few other things would see me retirn to the MC fold. I ended up writing my own solution using the discogs API, if Germinal could help / advise where to start, (I looked before I started this self code project) I can use the code that i have written to extend that funtioanlilty - Folders, Artist addition, Genre Addition, and a few other bits to MC.

Hello VVR,

Can I ask what you have written and how/where it is used?
I have purchased MC and would love to be able to use it but no integration with Discogs (or an alternative such as Musicbrainz) is a potential showstopper.
Like you I am looking to write (or pay someone to write) some sort of API.
Perhaps your solution could stop me from reinventing the wheel - the last thing we need is a square wheel!!!!
