We are a voiceover recording studio, and we are evaluating the purchase of Music Collection for our website. We have a few questions and it would be great to get some feedback on them :-)
Our idea is to use the Music Collection for our voice over talent demo page, and will feature mp3s as demos of the different voices we have available. We will use CB to offer some content to non-registered visitors and specific content to our clients (registered).
1) Can we edit the album information and other tags to match our filter needs? For example, filter by language ("Spanish language", "English language"...), age (child, teenager, adult...), type of voice (deep/bright/posh...), type of demo (radio commercial, audiobook, etc)
2) Related to #1, we would love to use the folder scanning feature so that the info is read from the ID3 tags. Any recommendations as to how to mach the tags, etc?
3) Our idea is to create a "generic demo" selection for all unregistered visitors to the website, and a complete list with all featured artists for all registered clients. I believe this will be possible too using different albums, right?
4) Also, we would like our clients to rate or pickup specific tracks as a shortlist or selection of talents for a specific project. I see they can rate a track directly, but can we then find out/filter which are the rated/selected tracks for a client? Also, do registered users have the possibility to tag songs, like "I like this track/talent for project named X?

01) you can re-use some of the existing filters (type, tag..) but if you want so many filters, you may need some extra to be added as custom work...
2) there's no ID3 tag reading on music collection. you would need custom work for this...
3) mm... right.. but how will you show only some albums to non-registered? I mean, MC does not include this feature so.. or it is added as custom work, or you just make some menu items pointing to album that everyone can see, for instance... do you know what I mean?

that should be custom work, too..
looks like Music Collection is the perfect basis for what you need, but you seem to need a very specific features, which can be achieved only by doing some custom coding work...
your thoughts?
