Hello,
Before I buy the Music collection I have some questions.
I have Jomsocial on my website:

If I understand it correctly it’s possible that our members can upload mp3 files and other members can also listen to the music. Is it legal?

About my server, I believe that I need a very strong server?

Sorry for my bad English

Paul

    hello

well, the legality is about the music files. I mean, I suppose you need to have the right to the song to put in on your site...!

so you should tell your users to upload songs they have the rights to do, I guess

but also some kind of legislation is involved in this, and it can depend on some countries.
for instance, in Sweden you can let users play any song for 1:30 without infringing any rights, I think!

again, the aim of Music Collection is that you catalogue and offer music you have the rights to! but the use you give to it it's only your choice :) it has nothing to do with us! ;)

though someone has said so in this forum, i doubt that in Sweden you can just play anybody's (not your own) music up to 1:30 min or so...

you can read more here about this persisting "folk myth".

the swedish copyright association imposes some rules even on their own members for playing own content on the internet:

    http://www.stim.se/en/creators/music-on-the-internet/

the bottom line: think twice if what you intend to do could be considered piracy or not. if it's not all your own works, it possibly could. so it depends on your luck whether anybody who finds out will tolerate it or you'll get an expensive but in-depth legal explanation by a record company lawyer...

    how does iTunes feed work?

I mean, if has a DIRECT link to a song, it can be used. otherwise, it's not possible, at least not out of the box...

Now, when you look at this link, it's from your site.

I can see that there are links to buy the Itune. How does it work? Can you make such a setup for us?

this is already built in, but these are just LINKS to buy the songs on iTunes, it has nothing to do with PLAYING the songs themselves on your site. the songs in this case are IN THE SITE, they are not on iTunes!

...they have their own music on their site for free playback, and they have it on iTunes for sale, too.

so you need to setup Music Collection with your songs for advertising, and place a "buy" link like they have in your example.

for this to work, you'll need to upload your content to iTunes:
