Spacing Error

0
I'm not really sure what's going on, or why this is happening - but I've noticed in quite a few places, where there should be spaces - there is in fact an _ instead.

Examples;

I hope someone can help. It doesn't look too pretty.

Thanks!

    I see!

    this is a language issue probably. what language is your site built in? english?
    it's like you're using music collection's lattest version (2.3) but actually the language file is older...!

    English, yes. Hmm - Strange. How can I fix this? I've used the latest version with no older files.

    Thanks

    please, can you check this?
    open file /language/en-GB/en-GB.com_muscol.ini and check if the sentences that appear in uppercase are there.

    for instance, is the line:

    CITY="City"

    in the file?

    I've just re-downloaded the latest version of the package - 'com_muscol_2.3.0_community_pro_1.6' and the file is a match for match of the en-GB.com_muscol.ini I have on my live site.

    However, everywhere that has more than one word in a phrase - I.E.

    GRID_VIEW=Grid view

    It shows GRID_VIEW

    this cannot be right... it should be:

    GRID_VIEW="Grid view"

    it shows without the quotes?

    can you send me the language file as you have it?

    I've just noticed - correct, there are no quotes. "

    But there are in the freshly downloaded file.

    Is there a reason why this would happen, or anything that could change this?

    I've attached the file, I hope you can see it - [file name=en_GB.zip size=3621]http://www.joomlamusicsolutions.com/images/fbfiles/files/en_gb.zip[/file]

    I don't understand. this is the version for Joomla 1.5!

    but you have Joomla 2.5. where are you downloading the component?! in Your Orders? there's where you should download it...

    what version of MC are you running?

    I don't understand anything. I am downloading the package right now just to check it, and the file is perfectly fine, it has the quotes and everything. and I have the same package as you. I don't know what you're doing.. you're not downloading the right thing!!

    Am I understanding right that the entire product wouldn't work if it was an older version though? With 2.5 I mean.

    How can I check the version I have installed? If I do have an older version installed - how can I update to the latest, and 2.5 ?

    Thanks :)

    in joomla extension manager you can see your version. our latest is 2.3

    but you already have the package for joomla 2.5, so if you download it, the language file contained in it will be th right one. you didn't answer my question.. where are you downloading the package from?

    you MUST download it form your orders menu. I tested it and that package has the correct file for language!

    a couple posts ago you told me that you had just downloaded it and the file contained no quotes. this means you didn't download the package from your orders. am I right?

    No, I told you that the file I have installed on my server has no quotes - initially I did think the files looked the same, but then after you said about the quotes, I saw that the freshly downloaded file DOES have quotes in.

    I've had my coder install the package for me, I'm guessing he's installed an older version - just verifying now.

    If this is the case - will it be easy for me to upgrade/update to the latest version?

    Thanks for your patience :)

    well, but the thing is that this file belongs to the package for joomla 1.5, which means that probably oyur coder installer a 1.5 version on a 2.5 installation.. so if actually shouldn't evern work!

    what you should do is uninstall it and install the correct one, the one for 2.5

    no data will be lost, but you will have to re-create the menu items and set the configuration again... that's all. :)

    Hmm. Strange - I've just checked Extension Manager - under the 'Manage' tab;

    MusCol Administrator Component 2.3.0 March 2012 Germinal Camps

    Is there any other files/places I can check to see a version?

    listen: why don't you just replace the language file?!

    download our package. in YOUR ORDERS menu,
    unzip it. inside the "site" folder, you'll see a language file. place it in your site, in /language/en-GB/en-GB.com_muscol.ini

    just do this! nothing more!

    I've now done that, and it seems to have fixed the problem - but it just baffled me as to why it happened so in the first place.

    I appreciate this wasn't an error of yours, but I simply came here for help - as of course, you - the creator knows your product better than anyone.

    I'm a paying customer, seems to be fine now - but there was no need to be rude.

    hello!

    I'm here to help! of course! I will help in anything I need, no matter if it's your "fault" or it was mine.
    but.. where was I rude? i really had no intention to be rude at any point... where did you get that impression?
    maybe some times I don't choose correctly my words.. English isn't my native language! :)

    sorry if I gave you the wrong impression, I appologise. I never intended to be rude, I just wanted to point you, step by step, what to do to solve it.

    using the "step by step" formula (like.. "do this! now do that!") may sound rude but it's just a way to keep it simple and make very clear what needs to be done... :)

    best,
    Germi

    That's fair enough :) Thank you for your reply. I misunderstood, and I think I got the wrong impression.

    Thank you a lot for your help - it seems to at least look a lot prettier now.

    Is there any way, or are there any crucial files I should check to see if they are the correct, and most up-to-date file? Everything seems to be working fine, though I haven't used all aspects of the product yet.

    Thanks again, and sorry for the misunderstanding :)

    not really. if extension manager tells you it's 2.3, then it's the latest version.
    if you had the joomla 1.5 version installed, then the program would simply not work. iot would give you blank pages, errors and such. if it's working, then it's for Joomla 2.5.. so I'm pretty confident you have now everything setted up correctly :)
