Some newbie questions

0
Hi,
I just bought Music Collection and installed it on my site. We want to use it for 2 purposes:
- announcing new CD's that we are playing on our radiostation (CROOZE.fm )
- giving our listeners the ability to lookup more info on the tracks and artists we have played.

So before starting to make errors, I have a couple of questions:

- is it possible to import artists, song info etc? (from CSV files or so..)
- is it possible to have songs in the MC system that DON'T have an album associated with it?
- are there naming conventions for the MP3's? Will the visitor ever see the real filename of the MP3 he's listening to?
- Can the player handle MP2 songs as well?
- do all the songs (MP3s) really have to be in the same "/songs" directory or can they be played from different other websites or locations?

That's it for now. Thanks

Frank

importing: not in this version. we are working on a DISCOGS integration (wich is almost done :) ) for next version, that will allow auto importing data from discogs database (www.discogs.com)

    -no, all songs inside albums
-yes, he can see the name if he looks the source code and find out how... not always easy, but posible.
-wow. MP2. never tried, but don't think so...
-they can. just write the whole URL on the field for it. the system automaticly looks if there's any "http" substring or similar, so it does not write the path wrongly if the file is in another server. also, if you will stream only from one external server, you can use the parameter "songs server", and the base path for all the songs will be that one.

    Thanks for the answers.

I still have a question about the songserver:
My site is at http://www.crooze.fm , my MP3s are at http://www.admin-crooze.be">www.admin-crooze.be/songs">http://http://www.admin-crooze.be">www.admin-crooze.be/songs
I allready put a crossdomain.xml file in the root of http://www.admin-crooze.be">www.admin-crooze.be, but cannot get the files to play. I get error #2032.
The filenames of the songs (in the albums) are like http://www.admin-crooze.be">www.admin-crooze.be/songs">http://http://www.admin-crooze.be">www.admin-crooze.be/songs/song1.mp3 and when I save this, I get the green check next to the songs + the correct path+filename.
I have treid different settings for the songserver, like http://www.admin-crooze.be">www.admin-crooze.be, http://http://www.admin-crooze.be">www.admin-crooze.be, www.admin-crooze/songs etc, but none of them works. What do I have to fill in exactly in the Songs Server and the Songs Folder fields?

Thanks for your help. I will most probably have more questions in the next hours/days for you :P
