Old letter bar type renders white screen

Changing the setting of the Letter Bar Type to 'Old' (ul element) renders a white screen on all pages where the leter bar navigation is supposed to show.

    this option has need deprecated and will be removed on the next version. I will check this anyway. in any case, don't use this option please, use always the new method.
