well, you can do it manually...
I mean, you upload the folde (folders) buy FTP, but then you'll have to add one by one each filename in each to match the specific path where the song is located...

Hi there i was reading through the forum and came across multiple uploads. I only purchased this component yesterday and am trying to set it up. i uploaded songs folder using ftp and pointed song paths to each song in backend.

But it does not work it does not pick up any tags such as lengh and artist name etc. and it won't play because song length is displaying 00 seconds.

Can you help with this please why is it not picking up the song from the pointed path.

    thanks

it wont pick up any artist name or lenght. this are (optional) field you have to fill up yourself.

the songs should be playing if you pointed to them in the backend...

    hey
you should have looked at the file that the player is trying to reach... it is trying to play the file (for instance)

    http://www.sportsofpunjab.com/songs//home/sportsof/public_html/songs/heer/heer.mp3

wich is a bad link. that's because you writed

    /home/sportsof/public_html/songs/Heer/heer.mp3

on the file field of the song form. DONT!!!! you just have to write

    Heer/heer.mp3

not the absolute path... and dont write a slash "/" at the begining

once again: try to check what file is trying to reach the player (you canuse Firebug for firefox, for instance)

now what I see is that the file that is trying to load is

    /songs/songs/Heer/heer.mp3

notice that WRONG double "songs" folder. and there's no absolute path this time, so I assume you modified the "songs server" parameter on Keithplayer. DONT!!!!

really, you didn't need to change anything to make it work.

so, just let "songs server" paramater (on Keithplayer plugin) EMPTY, and let the "songs path" parameter (on MC configuration) be "/songs".

and THATS IT!!!!! and be sure the filename on every song does not include the "songs" folder at the begining (to avoid that double songs folder on the path)

All you have to do is go back to MC's default configuration, wich is set to work out of the box.

    hello

first, check the permissions of the folders. all can be read and executed, right?

then, create a new test song and upload the sample file I use here on my site (you can download it here for instance http://www.joomlamusicsolutions.com/en/music-collection-demo/o/oasis/whats-the-story-morning-glory-2.html)

tell me if it plays now

    hi germi

i tried the sample file it worked but only when i put the file in songs folder when i put it inside a folder in songs folder it does not play which is a problem because i won't be able to separate songs with respective ablums.

still none of my songs will play, only think i can think of is sll of my songs are more 6 mb could this be a problem what is upload limit and where can i change it.
