Images for artist doesnt show up

Germi,

The images are not showing up properly .

When checked my directory /images/album_extra/album_name

its empty , the image I save from the admin menu doesnt show up here ,if I am not wrong this is where the images for album get saved right .

permissions are 777 for every sub folder folder

    when I click on apply after selecting the images they doesnt get saved in the respective folder i.e /images/album_extra/album_name
    /images/album_extra/artist_name

    when uploaded manually the image in the folder from ftp , it shows up , I am confused regarding this problem.
