Hi
I was really excited to get Music Collection as it was exactly what I was looking for!.
The install was easy and went without a hitch.
Ok, so now here is the problem, call me a dufus (I am happy with that), but try as I may, I cannot work out the procedure for uploading a MP3 and getting a song to work!
So please, can someone post a smple step by step prodcedure for getting started. I have searched the forum but can't find anything.
Something like this.
1. Boot up your PC
2. Open your browser
3  Something along those lines
I am sure there are many out there you need the smae help, hey but maybe I am the only dufus here !

0Well I seem to be making progress, but the problem is this:
We are compiling a compilation album of music. This album features a number of different artists.
I want to be able to assign multiple artists to an album.
The url is http://www.voicesofthesole.com/vos">http://www.voicesofthesole.com/vos (this is the Joomla version) or http://www.voicesofthesole.com (this is the old version)
I also don't seem to be able to get the Keithplayer to play. It id enabled.
Any helpers would be welcome.
Thanks

0you can't directly assign multiple artists to an album, but to the songs directly. in fact, an album is not by multiple artists itself... but it contains SONGS by different artists. So you can asign different artist on every song inside each album. Take a look at this article:
http://www.joomlamusicsolutions.com/en/features/manage-compilations-of-various-artists.html
as I see in your site, songs dont play just because you dont uploaded them using MC. be sure your SONGS folder is created and writable (and readable), and on the SONG backend form you have two options:
1 - upload directly the file using the input file field or...
2 - if you already the file (by FTP, for instance), just type the name of the file on the field for this (type the name EXACTLY as it is!!), including the extension (".mp3")
you should have no problem...

0Hey Germi!
The penny has dropped, the eagle has landed, the rabbit found the hole and I got it at last!
Just a fun thing : When you use the MC file upload it changes the song title (file) and replaces CAPS with lowercase in the backend. So then it does not find the file! That had me going for awhile! I renamed the backend to match the actual file in the /songs and all good now!
Thanks for your help!!!
Cheers

0first, create an album
once the albm is created, there will be a new tab (on the backend form), called "songs". click on it and add as many songs as you want
once the songs have been created, there will appear a new button next to each song, called "edit". click on it to enter the song form, where you can upload the MP3 file
