Yesterday it was working fine, nothing has changed on the site. Today I woke up and when I try to download any MP3 or zipped file from the site, instead of downloading the file the page outputs raw content to the screen. That looks like ¯2ñe’Š"$ `qJBâ/R8*„ñK ` û?‚A¤?©lEE¯2ñ¥’¢þ.éy$ƒüQs4¯2ñ¥’‚þ)D „óRŸ£ø*_êÓL8H(†’€"Åÿ2éUoÅW™øRI%þé¹[ýQÏæQW™ø2I‘À¿K ‚ÿY6 ºÊÄ—J þ»¤`ð¹‘ú£ÊV‡ŠCa «H|©ñ €ñÿEzù¡P¢˜8RTTýŸIaç*†ÿIcÏů2ñ¥Fò ¿Ez1zè¼ú“ú¡à«L|©¤¿K ýÃÖ»€B¯2ñe’ÄÅàb0ùwHÿ¤z{^°W˜øRgLjò‹Á`‰ÿµjL†”€ÁÀ¢¢Pÿ§¤0µ·ò‡w!v•‰/uœ#ðï‘B?«Þ‚AW™ø2Ia ¸(J ‚‰ÿ¤üjç€ sõ'Õ[ø*_n/ Š_\$Žü‡Šá籞(!Pâ0èÿô?wÿ¤øx•‰/7’ÿ»¤ øŸµv|•‰/•Tàï’BÎaÿ¨~)øU&¾Ü~)˜XT\ Gþn}ÎC{JG‰ó£Dÿçÿ?‘ÂÏjƒýYí-Dü
I find it troubling because if you check my last question a month ago I believe it was the same script that was not deleting the zip files in the songs folder and now there is this issue. What I would like to know is this something some else has experienced/reported and any proposed fixes?
What I have tried so far:
1. adding a directive in .htaccess for *.mp3 and *.zip
2. changing the readfile($file) to @readfile / file_get_contents() in components/com_muscol/views/file/view.raw.php
3. Turning GZIP on/off
4. Turning Joomla Cache on/off
None of these have worked. Please help.

0Hi, I found the problem. I am just putting here incase someone experiences the same; Problem was my joomla 3.4.5 site was hacked. The includes/cache file was containing some malicious files that were serving code for Only Googlebot to see. So if this is your issue look in your cache folder and see if your website has been compromised.
All the best.
