Hi all...
I am thinking of buying the music collection app. I like what I am seeing so far but have some questions to ask you.
1 - if I am correct you cant point to an other dir than the song one to import the files data? will this be added in the near future. I do not really need the download and upload function only going to use the data from the files. ( my server isn't even big enough to store all my files any way) So wile I am building my site locally (xammp) I like to point the app to my external hdd or may raid backup to get the id3tags from the files. ( I red something about a script for this purpose in the forum?)
2 - Because I have a rather large collection of files, I come across some minor faults in my tags now and then, If I am correcting these faults and let the app rescan the files will I have duplicates because the files is renamed some what...?
Thanks in advange,
Appie

0hello,
1. the files need to be readable from the "URL path". if you have your songs in a separate drive and you don't want to move them, then a modification of the script woulud be necessary to allow reading the files from there. but in any case that will work to READ the data, but not PLAY the song online. to play the song from the browser, the files need to be in the website folders...
2. it won't duplicate files if the filename is the same. but it won't update its data either.. (that would require custom coding as well...) -

0Thanks again for the answer but yet again a new one...sorry for that but its because (if I buy it) I want to use it on my site to make an online database for friends to see, not to download the files.
If I let my friends make an playlist would I be able to download it so I can use it in an player, would be great to let my friends make a playlist to be played at a party in my house or their house...
Thanks again for your time -
