meanwhile, please ask me anything you need to get this started.
it should be pretty easy to use (you can create invoices on the backend, and your users can see them in the frontend if you create a menu item: Invoices -> My Invoices)

Can you tell me how to edit the invoice template so it just has a description and amount (without unit and quantity).

Also on the invoices received by email, the right hand lines are missing from the box frame - see link: www.milesapart.com/images/email.png

1) well, you have to edit the template with the "plan text option" and play a bit with the HTML.. are you familiar with HTML?
