Hi. I purchased this content statistics component to graph my k2 use. But once installed I undertood that it is only making graphs starting on the day I installed it.

Is there a way to graph all the old visits since the begining of the website? We have a long history here.

I´ll appreciate your comments on this.

    Hi,

There's no way to graph old visits.. I mean, how could that be done? The component starts recording on the moment of installing... it cannot just "make up" previous data...

With al due respect Germinal, you do not need to make up any data. Every single content item includes a date of publication, an amount of reads, a title, an item id, all that data is there. If the component just calls that from the moment it is installed for all the items, make a graph of date published vs. reads and then starts adding whatever happens from then on, that would be a real solution for live websites.

I´m not complaining on your work, I believe what you have is good, but in the sales page is not well explained. I can´t publish this on the site so everybody see that my site had Cero visits before the day I installed the component. In the backend, for instructional purposes, may be useful. But is giving a lot of problems, syntax errors etc.

    Hello!

I understand your point, but with all due respect, that is not correct :) Let me explain:

Content Statistics records data over time. It's not just about recording how many hits (or views) and item has had, it's also recording the WHEN of every hit.

Therefore, knowing that the amount of reads is "36" is useless to Content Statistics, because what CS does it to actually record each one of these "reads" as a separate thing, knowing its specific date, user, IP, etc....

What you are describing is, in fact "making up" the information. If I understood correctly, what you're saying is to take the date of publication, the number of hits, and "make up" an average of hits every day. Maybe you get that there were (for example) an average 3 hits per day. But this info is not real. We can't know if there were 3 hits on Monday and 3 or Tuesday, or 5 and 1, or whatever it might be...

Do you know what I mean? This won't be real data...

I'm really sorry if this is not well explained on the sales page... but to be honest I think you're the first person (at least, that I can remember), that complains about this (well, I know you're not really complaining ;) ) in 7 years... I think everybody asumes (even us, maybe) that the data is recorded FROM the moment of install... there's no other way....

Besides of all that: what syntax errors are you having? this is definitely not normal :)

Ok I understand what you are saying. I saw the graphs in the sales page and i understood that the component was capable of doing that with the historical data of k2 in joomla.

I would like to requesta refund, it is not a complaint as I told before, but this is just not what I need. Maybe if I had a new site but this is not working for me.
