Historical Data

0
In my pre-buy question I asked about the data we have prior to installing this packages. Ho can I get it to use old data? I would like user stats. How many user registered this month or year going back to the beginning of the web site. I understand that I cannot get the details I get now but some old data would be great.

oh... :S :S :S well I must say I didn't understand your question. I thought you were talking about showing old data (but "post" data form the installation of the package)
now I understand what you mean. you mean that you want to know the users registered even before the installation of Content Statistics. right?
well the plugin will not show you that but luckily for us I can think of a way to import this old data into the new statistic system.

please feel free to contact me at joomlastatistics@gmail.com directly and I'll tell you what to do to get this old data included (we will need to make an export/import in the database)

    best,

    hello! :)

good news. I was thinking about this and saw that it wasn't too difficult to build an "import script" to include old registration data into the new system, as you asked for.
I have it ready to go.

in Joomla 2.5, the importation can be done by re-installing a new version of the plugin I just created.
in Joomla 1.5, however, this importation needs to be triggered "manually".

Please contact me when you can at joomlastatistics@gmail.com

more good news :) I made it so you can do it yourself and I don't have to bother you.
    this is how:

    - download the NEWER version of the plg_contentstats_com_user plugin available on MY SUBSCRIPTIONS. this version is 1.4.1
    - UNINSTALL the previously installed plugin (the same one, but the version you had, which is 1.4.0)
    - INSTALL the new one
    - finally, just visit this URL in your site: index.php?option=com_user&importdata=1
    (that is, for instance, www.yoursite.com/index.php?option=com_user&importdata=1)

please, visit this URL only ONCE.

doing this, the historical data for user registrations will be imported into Content Statistics system :)

please, let me know how it goes!
