Hi,
We're using Community Builder on our site, and as you probably know the mod_cblogin module must be used with Community Builder for CB to work properly. Logins using the mod_cblogin module are not being tracked. Only Admin Login (backends) are being tracked and those are using com_login.

    hello,

"user login" in the frontend (with CB) is not currently logged by Content Statistics.

Hmm, it's a bit confusing to say that Content Statistics can track Community Builder and frontend user login, also. Anyone using Community Builder has to be using cb login for frontend login. So, if a site is using CB they automatically lose frontend login tracking.

How difficult would it be to modify user.php to track cb login?

I hope it won't be too difficult. I will look into it.

I'm not saying that the features say CS tracks CB login, but what I'm saying is CS is suppose to track frontend user login. Its also suppose to track CB activity. But if cb login isn't tracked then only one of those two features can be used. One can't track CB activity and frontend user login also because if we're using CB we have to use cb login.

As an add on question, will the 1.4.1 plug-in for Community Builder work in the Joomla 1.5 package? Running Joomla 1.5 and cannot track user login/out. Current plugin version in myDownloads for that is showing 1.4.0

    Thanks!

I'm seeing strange behavior with my CB logins not being tracked if I have the 'record registered users only' on the main Content Stats plugin itself. The logouts are recorded, but the logins refuse to show up at all. Again - this is only if the 'Track Data' - 'Only from registered users' is checked on the Content Stats plugin. (This is the Joomla 2.5 version of the component and plugin)

this is actually normal.. because when the user logs in, he isn't actually yet logged in... so the plugin won't be triggered...

So the only way to effectively get all the logging that these plugins are supposedly capable of recording is to not limit the logging and record everything on the site? It does seem odd to say a plugin will do something, but then turn around and say, "actually, it won't" don't you think?

yes, that's the only way. to allow the system to track this info (user login) with the main setting set to "only logged in", a bit of code tweaking would be necessary on both plugins.
I don't really agree with your last sentence..! it does track user login! but the option has to be enabled for all users.. remember that in the moment of logging in, the user is actually NOT being logged in yet, that's why the system doesn't track it..

We can agree to disagree I guess. And yes, I understand the underlying argument and coding triggers.

In any case, since you pointed this out, I'm working on building methods that will track this even if it's set for "only registered". I'll keep you posted.

That's actually my point. I understand the underlying issue of 'user not being logged in' but since the registered user IS a registered user, the log in should be registered under the circumstance of the system dropping (unregistered) visits.
